Nonviolence means avoiding not only external physical violence but also internal violence of spirit. You not only refuse to shoot a man but you refuse to hate him.
Martin Luther King, Jr.
Happy Shopping
Refuse, refuse, refuse. Then reduce, reuse, and recycle (and only in that order). – Bea Johnson
When you do your Christmas shopping consider “waste”. Does the person really need or want the gift you are planning to buy? May be giving your own time (baby sitting, personal shopper, helping with a certain project etc.) or buying gift certificates for services (spa, house cleaning, yoga lessons etc.) are better ideas.
Before buying always think: refuse, reduce, reuse, recycle.
Why Gratitude Is Good
In the spirit of Thanksgiving, very interesting article about the effect of gratitude on one’s well-being. Please take some time and read it.
So, let’s say some sincere Thanks tomorrow (and throughout the year) …
… and then eat, drink and be merry among friends and family 🙂
Happy Thanksgiving
I’m thankful that we have a roof over our heads and food on the table. Unfortunately, this is not a given for a lot of people these days. So, I’m conscious of my good fortune and thankful for it. What are you thankful for?
HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!
Wisdom of a 100-Year-Old Marathoner
The secret to a long and healthy life is to be stress-free. Be grateful for everything you have, stay away from people who are negative, stay smiling and keep running. – Fauja Singh

Start Where You Are
“Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can.”
– Arthur Ashe-
I really like this quote, it’s encouraging and loving.
Next time when you can’t shake the feeling that you have lost control (and seem to drown in mess) think of this quote. Don’t be so hard on yourself. Stop and relax. Think of yourself first, do something good for yourself – can be as simple as a good cup of tea or maybe some deep breathing at the open window.
And then start where you are and do what you can.
“Wisdom is knowing what to do next, skill is knowing how to do it, and virtue is doing it.”
– David Starr Jordan –
Change
“If you can change your mind, you can change your life.”
– William James –
Letting Go
“Things pass, and the best thing we can do is to let them really go away.” -Paulo Coelho-
That goes for many things, life circumstances, sometimes even relationships. Think about why you are hanging on to “things” that seem to have no relevance in your life any more (or never had). Let them go, make room for “the new”, let change happen, live your life!
Karma Yoga
Have your awareness on the task at hand and be detached from the outcome . This is karma yoga. -Bhagvad Gita
